Physical Course Reserves
Faculty members may request that materials (i.e., books, print materials, DVDs) relating to a course be made available for a limited circulation period. The Library also allows full-time and emeritus faculty members to assign proxy borrowers who may perform library transactions on their behalf.
Electronic Course Reserves
Ares allows you to manage course materials via the web. All reserve requests can be submitted through Ares including electronic readings as well as physical materials such as books, DVDs, etc. The Library can pull items from our stacks to be put on the Reserve shelf and/or scan needed readings for students to download from Ares. You can also manage your own courses in Ares, upload new reserve items, and import readings from previous courses.
Instructors are responsible for operating within fair use guidelines when placing material on reserve. Please consult the University copyright website or our Library Copyright Best Practices for more information.
