- Biology has disappeared from the library homepage! Now that we don't have a separate library, we no longer have a special "Biology" link on the library site. If you are finding this inconvenient, here are a few tips:
-- Use the Research Guides link, top of the second column from the right side of the library page. Click on the biology research guide. I'm trying to put your favorite links on that site in several places. If there is something you want me to add, let me know.
-- Use the general library tools in the top left box of the library site. You may search for ejournals and databases by their names
-- Bookmark your favorites
-- Ask Ruth if these ideas don't work for you or if you can't find what you need! - Biology books and journal are now at Olin Library We finished moving biology books and journals to Olin Library (mostly on level B) on August 17th. Some materials are in temporary shelving; look for the yellow signs. We will try to get materials interfiled and moved into their permanent locations as quickly as possible, but this will probably take a few weeks.
Please ask if you can't find what you are looking for. You can ask shelving staff, front desk staff, or find Ruth Lewis (in Olin 139). If you prefer, you may also use the request button in the catalog and have Olin Library staff locate materials and put them on the Hold Shelf for you.
Tip: journals will be shelved by call number in Olin Library, not alphabetically by title, so remember to jot down the call number before you come over. - Bioinformatics@Becker: You may want to consider adding the Bioinformatics@Becker site or RSS feed to your routine. This is written by the Bioinformatics Specialists at WU Becker Medical Library. There have been several posts recently that might interest biofolk:
NCBI’s Rapid Research Notes

Since new books are now being processed for Olin Library, new book lists are generated, based on the fund which paid for the book and the date the record or the particular volume was created, so occasionally these titles may still be "in process" or duplicate listings from earlier months. Even if the book is "in process," you can still REQUEST it so the book will be held for you at the pick-up location of your choice. You may also be interested in browsing an alternative listings of new books, by broad call number areas. Suggestions for improvement welcome!
