Cambridge Structural Database
The Cambridge Structural Database records bibliographic, 2D chemical and 3D structural results from crystallographic analyses of organics, organometallics and metallic complexes. Both X-ray and neutron diffraction studies are included for small and medium-sized compounds containing up to ca. 500 atoms (including hydrogens).
The Cambridge Structure Database is available on one
public computer terminal in the Chemistry Library (LIB-CHEM 110). There are two search and visualization interfaces:
- ConQuest - ConQuest is the new program for searching and retrieving information from the Cambridge Structural Database. ConQuest provides a full range of text/numeric database search options, in addition to more complex search functionality, including: Chemical substructure searching, Geometrical searching; and Intermolecular non-bonded contact searching. ConQuest Online Documentation
- Mercury - Mercury offers comprehensive facilities for visualising crystal structures in three dimensions. Mercury can be run stand-alone or called from ConQuest to view search results. Mercury Online Documentation
