Scholarly Communication: Copyright & Publishing
|
Scholarly communication refers to the formal and informal processes by which the research and scholarship of faculty, researchers, and independent scholars are created, evaluated, edited, formatted, distributed, organized, made accessible, archived, used, and transformed. In recent years the concept of scholarly communication has also begun to connote faculty collaborating with publishers, librarians, and others, in solving the grievous problem of the inability of libraries to keep up with the ever-increasing volume and cost of scholarly resources. The Washington University Libraries have created this website to draw together resources to inform you, our faculty and students, about scholarly communications issues and strategies -- and point out how you can help. Please refer to the links to the right for more information. Do not hesitate to contact your subject librarian with any comments, questions, or suggestions you may have. We look forward to hearing from you! |
