About Course Reserves
Course reserves are materials that instructors have set aside in the library for specific classes and assignments. Reserves come in two forms - physical or electronic - and may be located one of two ways.
Physical course reserves (i.e., books, print materials, DVDs) have a call number and are listed in the Libraries' catalog. To locate them, search by the course number or instructor's name.
The catalog will indicate which library is holding the materials for your course. Go to the appropriate library's checkout desk to request an item on reserve.

Ares is an online course reserves system for scanned articles, streaming video/audio, and books.
To find materials in Ares, search by department or instructor and then select your course. Ares course sites are password-protected. Ask your instructor for the password.
Do not give the course login or password to anyone not currently enrolled in the class. The following excerpts are from the University Computer Use Policy:
"Do not access or intercept files or data of others without permission. Do not use the password of others or access files under false identity… Systems managers or other individuals within an academic or administrative unit may be empowered to suspend some or all privileges associated with computer use in cases of misuse or threat to the integrity of all or part of the University's information management resources."
